Simba out to end Yanga’s rule

ONLY a win in today’s Premier League match against Ndanda will see Simba once again reclaiming the pilot seat from their traditional rivals, Young Africans.

48-hour reign tag is what has been peaked in the round 21 and 22 of the premiership as the chase for the pilot seat has been decided after every 48 hours. Prior to Tuesday match between Young Africans, Simba were seating on the seat, their reign lasted only 48 hours after Young Africans clobbered visiting Africans Sports 5-0.
If Simba win today and regain the top post, they will end Yanga’s leadership that like that of their rivals, would have lasted 48 hours. It is Ndanda FC who will decide if Simba deserve a pilot seat or not.

Apart from a chase for the top position, today’s encounter is also decisive on the chase for the golden. Simba’s golden boy Hamis Kiiza whose 16- goal lead was interrupted by two goals netted by his rival Amis Tambwe, will be force to reckon with in the match.
Following his two goal in their 5-0 goal win over African Sports, Tambwe is now the leading marksman after netting 17 times in 20 matches he played for Yanga. Only one goal in today’s match will put Kiiza at level with the Burundian striker. Also a key figure in the match is Simba’s brilliant boy, Ibrahim Ajib whose skills have impressed many soccer fans countrywide.
In their first leg match at Nangwanda Sijaona Stadium in Mtwara, Simba defeated the host 1-0, a situation that forces Ndanda to seek revenge in Dar es Salaam. Though there were four matches in different venues, their results had no significant change in the race for the top position. But, however, they had impact in the fight to avoid relegation.
In Mbeya, Tanzania Prisons hosted Kagera Sugar while at Mkwakwani Stadium relegation threatened Coastal Union and Mgambo JKT were in a fight for premiership survival. Hardfighting Mwadui FC hosted Majimaji at Mwadui Complex while the fourth match saw JKT Ruvu hosting Toto Africans at Karume Memorial stadium.
JKT Ruvu crawled away from the danger zone after beating Toto Africans 2-0 while at Mkwakwani Stadium; Coastal Union defeated Mgambo JKT 1-0. JKT Ruvu are now positioned 11th in the league standing.
Coastal Union who were placed bottom, have moved two place now they are placed 14th. In Mbeya, Tanzania Prisons and Kagera Sugar drew 1-1 at Sokoine Memorial Stadium.
Prisons have collected 36 points from 22 matches while Kagera are placed 15th after collecting 19 points. At Mwadui Complex in Shinyanga, visiting Majimaji FC forced the hosts Mwadui to a barren draw in a match that saw both sides wasting many scoring chances.
Following the results, Mwadui have now bagged 33 points from 22 matches while Majimaji, who added a point in Shinyanga are standing 12th on the table.
